Part-Time Youth Outreach Advocate

Location: Victorville
Reports To: Fam Spot Program Manager
Status: Part-Time (Some evenings and weekends may be required)

Starting Rate: $20.00 per hour

Position Summary

Family Assistance Program is seeking a compassionate and motivated Part-Time Youth Outreach Advocate to support the operations of our youth drop-in center and provide outreach services to unhoused and at-risk youth ages 12-24 throughout the High Desert. This position focuses on building positive relationships, providing mentorship and crisis intervention, and connecting youth with vital community resources while representing the agency at outreach events and within the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to unhoused and underserved youth while building and maintaining relationships with community partners.
• Supervise, mentor, and support clients in a safe, welcoming, and professional environment.
• Provide crisis intervention, guidance, and advocacy to at-risk youth.
• Assist clients in accessing agency services and community resources through referrals.
• Develop and facilitate workshops that promote life skills, self-care, and positive community engagement.
• Collaborate with volunteers to support clients with educational needs and schoolwork.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold agency policies and procedures.
• Represent Family Assistance Program professionally at community events and outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state-issued driver's license, current vehicle registration, and proof of automobile insurance.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of the communities we serve is preferred.
• Must successfully pass a background screening.
