We're Hiring: Employment Assistance Specialist

Location: Victorville/San Bernardino
Employment Type: Full-Time
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour, depending on experience

Are you passionate about helping others achieve stability and independence through meaningful employment? Family Assistance Program is seeking a motivated and compassionate Employment Assistance Specialist to join our team!

In this role, you will work closely with program participants to identify their skills and employment goals, prepare them for the workforce, connect them with employment opportunities, and provide ongoing support as they work toward securing long-term employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess participant employment needs and provide ongoing employment case management.
  • Assist participants with identifying skills, resume writing, and employment preparation.
  • Help participants establish SMART employment goals.
  • Prepare and coach participants for job interviews.
  • Build relationships with local employers and advocate for employment opportunities for participants.
  • Maintain and share current job opportunities and employment resources.
  • Facilitate internal and external referrals for employment opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, services, referrals, and participant records in Apricot.
  • Motivate and support participants as they work toward their employment goals.
  • Collaborate with team members and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in employment services, workforce development, case management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with current registration and insurance.
  • Must have a good driving record and be willing to travel between offices, program locations, and local businesses during the workday.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus, but not required.
